Netflix Overview

Netflix is an online streaming service. What this means is, that in order to get and use Netflix, you must have access to the internet. This means you need an internet connection and either a computer, an internet connected television, there are some gaming consoles you can use, or even a smart phone or a tablet with an internet connection. It’s a very simple matter of going to their website and setting up an account. This does require a credit card. It costs between $7.99 to $11.99 USD, for the streaming service, depending on how many different screens you want to be able to watch on at the same time. Once that’s done, you have access to all of the television shows, movies and specials that the service has to offer.

Once you have your account set up, it’s a simple matter of logging into Netflix, on whichever platform you choose, and finding what you want to watch. Netflix has a wide variety of TV shows, movies and specials. Your choices for television shows range from all five seasons of the black and white comedy classic “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” which ran from 1961 to 1966 to that late eighties, early nineties sitcom about growing up in the sixties, “The Wonder Years” to all nine seasons of the hit show that ran from 2005 to 2014, “How I met your mother.”

Also available are all six “Star Trek” shows, from the original, starring William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, to the so-so prequel “Enterprise,” starring Scott Bakula. Then there are shows like the show about three witch sisters, “Charmed”. The show about a guy who can build a bomb from household products, “Macgyver,” as well as the hit show “NCIS.” New shows like “Quantico,” “Frequency”, “Burn Notice” and “Leverage” are also available. And Netflix’s selection of TV shows isn’t limited to American TV. They carry great British-made shows like “Doctor Who” and “Doc Martin.” And now Netflix is making their own shows. Great shows like “Grace and Frankie,” the Academy Award winning show “Stranger Things” and the Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant comedy about being a zombie in suburbia “Santa Clarita Diet.”

Then there are the movies, classic movies like the great Hepburn/Tracey workplace comedy, “Desk Set.” The great war movie starring Robert Mitchum, “Heaven Knows, Mr. Alison,” the Paul Newman classic “The Hustler” and that great Christmas musical starring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, “White Christmas.” And Netflix isn’t limited to just older movies, they have “Captain America: Civil War” “Zootopia” and Disney’s new version of “Pete’s Dragon.” And dramas like “Forrest Gump,” “Twilight” and “Magic Mike.”

There is never a shortage of something to watch and there is always something for everyone in the family. Netflix doesn’t just have TV shows and movies, they have comedy specials from the likes of Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, Amy Schumer and Ali Wong to music specials with Frank Sinatra, Justin Timberlake and Justin Bieber. Then there are the documentaries. Shows that can both educate and entertain. Shows about nature like “Wild Alaska” and “Madagascar,” the real island, not the animated one. There is the prolific documentarian, Ken Burns, his shows about “The West” “The Civil War” and “The Roosevelts” are all available right now on Netflix.

As I’ve tried to show here, Netflix offers a wide variety of movies, TV shows and specials. Netflix also offers convenience and works on streaming devices like Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire. They allow each member of the family to build their own profile. So you never have to go digging through your son’s list of rap specials in order to find your favorite TV show. They allow you to make your own list of movies, TV shows and specials that you want to watch and the selection is always changing. New things arrive as older shows and movies leave, but usually return And, what’s really great, something a lot of people forget when they talk about Netflix. Although it is being phased out, Netflix does still provide DVD or Blu-Ray’s through their mail service. And these would be almost any movie or TV show, even if it isn’t offered on Netflix streaming. Netflix has become such a “thing,” it now has it’s own meme. “Let’s Netflix and chill.” In other words, just stay home, find something good on Netflix, because there’s always something good on Netflix, and just kick back in your own home, in your pajamas and relax.

QuiBids – Amazing Tips To Help You Win

Quibids is an online penny auction website, and there are much more that are popping up all over the internet today. Participating in penny auctions is the new, revolutionary way to save tons of money on items you want most. You could win personal items, gifts for kids or friends, and even cash. Penny auctions are a thrill, and they are even more fun if you have tips on how to win. Quibids is one of the most popular online penny auction sites and is becoming more widely known every day. To win auctions, there are important factors to keep in mind. You have to be attentive and pay close attention to each auction you are interested in. It is also necessary to bid intelligently, and cautiously.

Winning penny auctions on Quibids is something that tons of people are trying to do. But paying close attention to the auctions will set you over the top. The reason it is so important to watch an auction closely, is because you will be able to determine the tone of that auction. If there are tons of people bidding on it at one time, and the countdown clock is not very low, you have no reason to start placing bids. By watching the item up for auction, you can also determine what time of day there are fewer people bidding it. This might take a bit of observation time to accomplish, but it will be well worth it in the end.

When participating in penny auctions on Quibids, another tip on how to win is to bid cautiously. It is a poor idea to start throwing your bids out before you know for sure that you want and can pay for that particular item. Do some research on the item, figure out its value and then you can make a budget plan for yourself. You don’t want to get stuck in the situation where you have won an auction but have spent all of your money on bids with none left to pay the price you won the item for. Automated bidding bots are something to watch out for if you are trying to win an auction. These bots have been requested to place bids for people who are either not able to sit in front of their computer, or are watching other auctions. These bots can be dangerous for you since you do not know how long it could continuously bid for. That is an intimidation factor that people frequently use as well.

Bidding intelligently and cautiously is extremely important in penny auctions. Since each bid costs money, you have to be careful and sure about when to start bidding. Make sure you want and need the item you are bidding for, so that you can feel confident while battling it out. Watching auctions closely will provide you a huge advantage, and you will be able to put your bids in at the right time, increasing your odds of winning on the Quibids website.

Protect Your TV For Longer

To protect your TV so it lasts longer, you can follow some simple tips and tricks that come straight from the manufacturer. A properly maintained TV set can give endless days of entertainment for the whole family, so take good care of it! Especially in this era of flat panel, LCD screens and plasma TVs you have to be extra-careful with your set.

First, don’t use strong chemicals on your TV set. This could damage a plastic lining that is present in most LCDs. Instead, use distilled water with some isopropyl alcohol diluted in the mix. Then clean your TV using gentle downward strokes. You might want to also dust your TV and other electronics, at least monthly. In this fashion, you prevent dust from getting inside the TV and messing up the circuits. A very good idea is to clean up your electronics every week. If you truly want to protect your TV for a longer duration, you need a surge protector. Current spikes are one of the main reasons for circuit damage in TVs. The nice thing about surge protectors is that they double as extensions and multipliers, allowing you to connect and protect multiple electronics. This is definitely a must have.

Next, turn off that Wii! The main cause of screen burn for Plasma and LCD TVs is leaving on the video game consoles. Make sure your kids turn off the TV before finishing a game session and also check if your TV has a screen burn protection feature (if found, then configure accordingly). Be extra careful when moving the TV set: make sure you have enough help for the job, put the TV in its original boxing before moving or use lifting straps to make the job easier and safer. Storing the original packaging comes in handy when you want to move the TV set. If you’re moving the TV across floors, keep the base pointing down, use straps to hold the game well, and make sure all the corners are secure. Avoid involving kids in the process and spot a time in which the house would be as quiet as possible, to avoid any accidents.

Finally, use wall mounts and install stabilizing systems. This makes the TV look great and also prevents your kids from running into it. With the huge amounts of money, we’re now spending on TVs it only makes sense to be diligent about protecting them. A little goes a long way when we’re talking about home electronic maintenance.
